Echeveria elegans ‘Lemon Berry’, also known as Mexican snowball, is a species of succulent flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae.
Echeveria is a large genus of flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, native to semi-desert areas of Central America, Mexico and South America. They are compact, herbaceous perennial plants. The name Echeveria is named after the 18th-century Mexican botanical artist Atanasio Echeverria Codoy.
Echeveria grow best in bright light and well-drained soil. Growth is best during the warmer periods of the year. They will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors for the winter, or to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. Water is needed during the warmer months of the year, but be careful not to overwater them. More water is needed in sunny conditions than in shade. Echeveria can be propagated from offsets, or it can be propagated from stem cuttings or mature leaves. A mature leaf can be removed and placed in a pot to root, which takes about three weeks.
